Nick Hernandez

Information & Product Manager

Nick Hernandez is a product leader, strategist, and educator dedicated to designing technology that serves people—not just profits. With over a decade of experience in product management, analytics, and education technology, Nick has led initiatives that empower students, educators, and communities through ethical, data-driven decision-making. His career spans higher education, K-12 systems, and mission-driven technology firms, where he has focused on creating accessible, equitable, and scalable solutions.

Nick’s work is rooted in a deep commitment to social justice and systemic change. He believes technology should reduce barriers, not reinforce them, and that data should be used to support—not surveil—communities. From his early career in direct service with City Year Seattle/King County to his leadership roles in edtech, he has remained focused on ensuring that digital tools serve the needs of those most impacted by inequitable systems.

At EAB, Panorama Education, and Seattle Public Schools, Nick has championed transparency, accountability, and user-centered design, helping education institutions leverage technology to foster meaningful change. His expertise in AI, data analytics, and strategic planning has influenced multimillion-dollar product investments, but his core mission remains clear: building tools that help people navigate complex systems with dignity and agency.

Beyond his work in product development, Nick serves as a guest lecturer at the University of Washington Information School, mentors early-career technology professionals, and advises startups on ethical technology & business practices. He is also deeply invested in technology solutions that challenge the existing edtech ecosystem, ensuring that educational institutions retain control over the tools that shape learning and opportunity.

Nick is a lifelong soccer player, a crafty D&D GM, and an enthusiastic mentor. He’s also a proud uncle and a casual multi-instrumentalist. Nick lives in Seattle with his partner, Laura, with their four cats and very cat-friendly cattle dog.
